Identification Number: During Sandringham Sabres tryouts, players are given a letter and number combination to help identify them easily. Please follow the below instructions on how to find and apply your Player ID before EACH tryout session. NOTE: If you attended the pre-tryout, your number will be different. Do NOT apply the same number as the pre-tryout.
Tryout Schedule: Please take note of your tryout schedule dates, times and courts. All tryouts will be held at 150 Tulip Street, Cheltenham. If you are unable to attend tryouts please email tryouts2025@southernbasketball.com.au
U18 Boys Information
Under 18 Boys Tryout Schedule (Born in 20082009)
Sabres Under 18 Boys – 8th October
Thanks to the U18 Boys who trialled on Monday the 7th of October.
All the boys who trialled on Monday night are invited to return to the final U18 Sabres Boys trial on Friday the 11th of October from 8.00pm – 9.30pm at Southern Basketball Centre, 150 Tulip Street.
Please remember:
- Basketball
- Drink Bottle
- Reversible top
- ID number pre-applied.
Birth Certificates: It is a requirement of playing in the VJBL that player birth certificates are sighted by the registering Association (rule 7.2 of the VJBL Rules of Operation).
SBA tryout helpers will be checking player birth certificates commencing at tryouts across the weekend of October 4th, 5th and 6th. This will add to the wait time in the entry queue so we ask you to be patient.
If you are unable to present your child’s birth certificate then your child will not be permitted to tryout. We cannot stress this enough.
All we require is sighting a copy of your child’s birth certificate either as:
