From Silver medal Commonwealth game recipient to Director of coaching for Sandringham Sabres.
The SBA are pleased to announce the recent appointment of Rachael Vanderwal as the Director of Coaching women and girls.
Rachael is a retired professional basketball player who has lived and played in Ireland, Spain, Belgium and Germany over the last 16 years. She competed with the Great Britain Women’s Senior Basketball Team, played in 4 European Championships, reached the 2012 London Olympics and obtained a silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Rachel joins the SBA with a wealth of knowledge in basketball as well as Physical Education teaching. Rachel will oversee the whole women’s/girl’s program in hopes to provide extensive coaching experience and management to our program. She will be leading, developing, and mentoring coaches, whilst building and maintaining effective relationships throughout the Association.
