JARRY RETURNS TO SABREDOME FOR THIRD YEAR

Our reigning NBL1 Women’s captain and 2019 leading scorer, Rachel Jarry, has recommitted to the orange and blue for season 2020!

Jarry suited up in every game of the inaugural NBL1 season, leading the way with 19.6 points and 8.7 rebounds. The versatile veteran also played a key role with our young side, leading both on and off the court.

“I’m so excited for this opportunity and the season ahead,” Jarry told Sabres media.

“2019 was a tough season for us with a lot of injury and illness adversity and we were all pretty disappointed with our position at the end of the season. A silver lining of this is that we were able to develop some young girls looking to step up from Youth League so I’m really excited to see their continued development in the upcoming season.”

An AIS graduate, Jarry is a WNBL championship winner and All-Star, SEABL MVP and WNBA Championship winner with the Minnesota Lynx. Since 2017 she has been a mainstay with the Sabres.

“I’m looking forward to playing with a really competitive team in the orange and blue in the NBL1 season.”

“I love my teammates and coaches and being able to play with them in such an elite competition in the NBL1 is awesome.”

“I also love that we are so involved with junior players at the club and hopefully are great role models for them. I hope to see the juniors moving through the pathway to the NBL1 level in the future.”

Jarry is the first confirmed signing ahead of the 2020 NBL1 season. Stay tuned to our website and social media for more signings to come!
