SABRES SIGN CHELSEA D’ANGELO FOR 2020 NBL1 SOUTH SEASON
The Southern Sabres are excited to announce the signing of junior Australian representative and Melbourne Boomer Chelsea D’Angelo for the 2020 NBL1 South season.
“I am really looking forward to the opportunity to play under Andrew and to play with a great new group of exceptional athletes,” D’Angelo told Sabres media.
“I’m also excited to see how well we gel as a team and how far we can go in the season.”
The 20 year old began her stellar basketball career in Traralgon. From there she represented Victoria in all six Australian Junior Championships.
“Although I’m only a young player, I have state and national team experience as well as three WNBL seasons under my belt so hopefully I can bring the experience and knowledge I’ve gained to this upcoming NBL1 season.”
“I would like to think I also bring a lot of energy and a positive attitude!”
“Chelsea brings enthusiasm and hunger to our NBL1 Women. She is excellent moving without the ball and has a real nose for scoring. She will be a great asset for Head Coach Andrew Potter and the team”, said Head of the Women’s program Simon Giovannoni.
D’Angelo averaged 14 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 19 games with Nunawading last NBL1 season, and has spent time with Kilsyth, Frankston, La Trobe Energy and Traralgon.
D’Angelo joins Rachel Jarry and Stephanie Collins as our announced signings for the upcoming NBL1 South season.
