SBA DOMESTIC COMPETITIONS/JUNIOR PROGRAMS
Following the latest announcement from the State Government today, our stadium will remain closed to all competitions until further notice, we are hopeful this may be lifted late next week
VJBL
With indoor sport still under significant restrictions in Metropolitan Melbourne, the upcoming VJBL round scheduled for Friday 18 June has been cancelled. This round will not be rescheduled due to the previous February lockdown exhausting all available catch-up weeks.
Big V
The current plan is to recommence the 2021 Big V season on the weekend of 26-27 June and extend the season by 2 weeks.
The decision to not play this weekend (19-20 June) has been taken to allow athletes to recondition themselves so teams adequately prepare for the season recommencement, plus the current venue restrictions on spectators.
More details to come when fixtures are finalized for rounds 11-13.
NBL1
Basketball Victoria and NBL1 South have postponed all scheduled Round 9 NBL1 South games this weekend. As a result, the NBL1 South fixture has been revised down to 20 games per team rather than 22 this season, due to the timing of the NBL1 Finals in September. Basketball Victoria and NBL1 South hope to recommence play in Round 10 (25 June), which will be the league wide NBL1 Mental Health Round, with 109 game nights still to be played in the next eight weeks.
