Melbourne United partnering with the Southern Basketball Association.
With community engagement always front of mind, Melbourne United is excited to be officially partnering with the Southern Basketball Association (SBA).
United has established a close relationship with the SBA since relocating to Hoop City Cheltenham in 2020.
This relationship has expanded with a number of United stars signing on to play and coach for the Sandringham Sabres, such as Shea Ili, David Okwera, David Barlow and Rhys Carter.
With player appearances, ticket offers, giveaways and opportunities for players and coaches to connect with United staff all on the cards, Melbourne United CEO Nick Truelson is excited at what this partnership will bring to basketball in the region.
“Our purpose as a basketball club is to use the power of basketball to inspire, entertain and enrich people’s lives, and this partnership, as well any further association partnerships, encompasses every part of that.
“We’ve already built such a great relationship with the SBA since moving to Hoop City and we’re thrilled to expand on those connections.”
These sentiments were echoed by SBA CEO Craig Weir.
The SBA is pleased to announce the signing of a strategic partnership with Melbourne United over the next 3 years which will provide a number of benefits for all of our members.
“This is an exciting moment for the SBA. I look forward to working together with the management and players of Melbourne United
