Why play with Warriors?

Bayside Warriors Basketball offers something different to any other junior domestic or representative club in Melbourne.

What do we offer?

As a community based not-for-profit organisation, focused exclusively on junior basketball, all our fees go straight back into building a quality club and program for the families that pay them. This means:

  • Every team is led by a professional, dedicated coach throughout each season, drawn from the strongest domestic coaching panel in Melbourne (no parent coaches)
  • Every team trains weekly at a quality, indoor facility within the Port Phillip area
  • Access to supplemental development sessions led by our coaches

Our teams play in Saturday domestic competitions (SBA for boys) and (MCBA for boys and girls)

Who can play with the Warriors?

  • Junior basketballers of all abilities. We cater to players at all levels and offer the perfect setting for:
    • Rep players seeking to expand their game via quality domestic coaching and competition
    • Advanced players who want to experience rep level coaching and competition without the crazy commitment rep basketball requires
    • Beginner and intermediate players who want to access the quality of coaching needed to level up their game

Moorabbin Tigers Basketball Club was formed by a group of parents from  Moorabbin Primary School in about 2001 who had a vision in creating a club that focused on the children participating in a team sport which they enjoyed playing and learning the skills of Basketball. Initially only a couple of teams existed but due to the successful but simple formula, the Moorabbin Tigers had teams through to U21’s. In the early 2000s our numbrs dipped as student numbers of the school did. The school is now thriving again and so our team numbers are on the upward trend.
