March 2, 2022: We’re excited to announce the re-signing of Tohi Smith Milner and Rachel Jarry for the 2022 NBL1 season. Rachel returns from her season with the Southside Flyers in the WNBL while Tohi is back with the Sabres after his SEABL season in the blue and orange in 2016. Great to have them both back on board for the coming season!!
February 25, 2022: The SBA are excited to announce another huge signing for our NBL1 men. We welcome Shea Ili for the 2022 NBL1 season, fresh off another season with Melbourne United in the NBL. Together with Tom Wright, Shea gives the team an important one-two punch in the back court and will surely terrorise opposition back-courts throughout the winter of 2022 under the watchful eye of HC Dave Barlow.
February 21, 2022: The SBA are lucky to have acquired the services of Tom Wright for the 2022 NBL1 season. Tom has been a longstanding SEABL and NBL1 player for the Hobart Chargers and more recently the Nunawading Spectres. He brings a wealth of basketball experience and winning culture to the Sabres for the 2022 season. We’re looking forward to having Tom in the blue and orange for 2022!!
February 18, 2022: The SBA are pleased to announce the signing of Dion Prewster for the 2022 NBL1 season. The kiwi is currently on a one year contract with Melbourne United, having previously won MVP of the NZBL. Prewster most recently enjoyed an outstanding season with the Wellington Saints, leading them while averaging 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
February 17, 2022: The Sabres NBL1 Men are pleased to announce the signing of Melbourne United star David Okwera! David is currently taking his game to another level with his Melbourne United role and will look to continue his development with the Sabres in 2022! David is the first signing of new Sabres head coach David Barlow.
February 16, 2022: The Sabres NBL1 Women are please to announce the signings of WNBL stars Funda Nakkasoglu (Sydney Flames) and Brittany Smart (Canberra Capitals) for the 2022 NBL1 season. The girls join Brigitte O’Neill, Georgia Pineau and Amy O’Neill as a solid foundation for the upcoming campaign.
