U20S COACHING POSITIONS: EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

The Southern Basketball Association is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant coaching positions for the upcoming 2025 VJBL Season:

  • Sandringham Sabres U20s Women Head Coach
  • Sandringham Sabres U20s Men Head Coach

Working closely with the SBA Head of Program Director of Coaching, the head coach of our U20’s program will be responsible for the development of players in preparation for senior basketball.

The successful candidates will be required to possess:

  • A Working with Children’s Check;
  • Knowledge of the Sandringham Sabres elite player pathway;

Key Attributes:

  • Exceptional basketball knowledge;
  • The ability to develop and manage coaching staff;
  • The ability to develop Sabres junior players into senior players in line with the Sabres philosophy of individual player development and Sabres style of play;
  • Outstanding communication skills within a coaching and player development environment;
  • Ability to create a professional culture that emphasises holistic development;
  • Organised, adaptable and willing to work within the structure of the wider association;
  • Ability to work in-between our NBL1 teams and our Junior Sabres program;

Note: Under 20s will be played on Sunday evenings in 2025 with a first season running the duration of Term 1 and a second season spanning Terms 2 and 3 to follow.
