June Mary Hamill (SBA Life Member 1997)

 

It is with great sadness that the Southern Basketball Association announces the passing of Life Member June Hamill. June was a wonderful servant of the club for many years, serving as Secretary on the committee of management for several years 1984-1988 and again from 1991-1995, whilst also teaching at St. Bede’s in Mentone.

June spent numerous years assisting with recording statistics at senior games and many other duties around the club even organising the door keepers at Mentone Grammar, Parkdale, Beaumaris, Highett, South Oakleigh and St James whilst we were building our new facility in Tulip Street. In 1997 she was awarded life membership of the SBA in recognition of her efforts and dedication to the Association.

June passed away peacefully, Wednesday 24 July 2019 Aged 86. Loving Mother of Chris, Stuart and Paul. Proud Nan of Rebecca, Amelia, Carlie, Jesse, Michael, Shane, Kayla, Luke and Julian.

A funeral service to remember her life will be held in the Le Pine Chapel, 21 McDonald Street, Mordialloc on Thursday 1 August 2019 commencing at 10am.
